Lahaina Arts Society featuring paintings by Kirk Boes
LAHAINA – West Maui artist Kirk Boes will be featured in Lahaina Arts Society’s Banyan Tree Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse from April 2 through May 7.
His colorful oil paintings of flying animals and famous places are inspired by the art of Vincent van Gogh and Marc Chagall.
Boes is also the author and illustrator of “An American Dog in Paris,” the story of a dog who falls in love with a flying Parisian cat.
Boes graduated from Lahainaluna High School in 1976 and currently serves as the gallery director at Lahaina Arts Society.
A reception will be held on Friday night, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. You can also meet Boes most weekdays in the gallery.
