Wharf to host 35th annual Ghoulish Gala Karaoke Costume Contest
LAHAINA – What started out as a small Halloween contest many years ago has turned out to be one of Lahaina’s most “spooktacular” and celebrated events.
The Wharf Cinema Center’s 35th annual Ghoulish Gala Karaoke Costume Contest takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with registration. Contestants can warm up their vocal cords with “open mic” from 6 to 7 p.m.
The main event starts at 7 p.m. Contestants must be in costume to qualify.
For this 35th anniversary competition, winners will be awarded special prizes worth over $1,500.
Competition will be fierce, so bring your best!
Lahaina’s own Toddy Lilikoi will emcee the contest.
Admission and registration are free. All vampires, witches, ghosts and goblins are welcome to join!
Following the Ghoulish Gala, the entertainment continues at The Wharf with The Lamonts, who will be rocking the night away at Cool Cat Cafe from 10:30 p.m. until closing.
Down the Hatch will host its own Halloween party with a costume contest and Deejay Ron from 10 p.m. until closing.
There will be Halloween dining specials at all Wharf restaurants with late night Halloween hours.
The Wharf Cinema Center is located at 658 Front St., across from the historic Banyan Tree.
The Wharf is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with validated parking located directly behind the shopping center (or catch the Maui Bus).
