By Staff | Sep 27, 2018

Mitch Kepa is driven by innovation and creativity.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Restoration Foundation is pleased to present Mitch Kepa and Rock Hendricks for this month’s Hawaiian Music Series, a free live performance, on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the front porch of the Baldwin Home Museum on the corner of Dickenson and Front streets.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Kepa was inspired to pursue a musical career by the late Gabby Pahinui.

Hendricks is an award-winning and renowned saxophonist.

He was just nine years old when his dad gave him a saxophone. By the age of 15, Hendricks was performing with soul groups in Oakland, California.

During his career, he performed and recorded with many legendary performers, including Michael Jackson, Bonnie Raitt and Sammy Hagar.

As a Hawaii resident for the past 20 years, Rock Hendricks has performed and recorded with a number of Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning artists, such as Cecilio and Kapono and The Brothers Cazimero.

Limited seating is provided on the lawn; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome.

Now in its tenth year, the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the County of Maui Office of Economic Development sponsor the Hawaiian Music Series.

The success of this program is due to residents and visitors who support Hawaiian culture and arts in Lahaina Town through their attendance, appreciation and donations. Follow the Hawaiian Music Series via social media at #HMS2018.
