Lahaina Arts Society featuring show by Kirk Boes

Original art from “An American Dog in Paris” will be on display along with Kirk Boes’s representational works depicting scenes of Lahaina.

LAHAINA – Kirk Boes will be the featured artist at Lahaina Arts Society’s Banyan Tree Gallery from Sept. 4 to Oct. 2.

He is the author of a love story titled “An American Dog in Paris.” Original art from his book will be on display along with representational works mainly depicting scenes of Lahaina.

This year marks Kirk’s 45th as a Lahaina resident. His paintings are the result of the influences of van Gogh, Chagall and decades of island living.

Boes was first a member of Lahaina Arts Society during the 1980s and currently serves as the gallery director.

A reception to meet the artist will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. with light refreshments.
