Tickets on sale for third annual Maui Salsa Bachata Congress

The congress will feature live music by salsa legend Ismael Miranda (pictured), two-time Latin Grammy nominees Voz a Voz, Manny Rod, and Son Caribe of Hawaii.

KAANAPALI – The Maui Salsa Bachata Congress will return to the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa on Sept. 27-30.

The third annual event will feature performers and instructors from some of the most famous salsa cities around the world: Santiago de Cali, Colombia; Havana, Cuba; Las Vegas; San Jaun, Puerto Rico; New York City; Seattle; Orlando; and Los Angeles.

The congress will feature three days of workshops, classes and performances and four nights of social dancing on Thursday to Sunday.

Dance classes in salsa and bachata, from beginners to advanced, include women’s styling, men’s styling, partner work, musicality, footwork, timing, body movement and spins.

Friday and Saturday night will feature performances, concerts and social dances.

The band Voz e Voz will play on Friday night, and Saturday night will include Son Caribe and salsa legend Ismael Miranda.

Artists and instructors include Deivy Johan Zuniga (California, Colombia), Eddie “The Salsa Freak” (Denver), Sandra Mirley (Peru, Las Vegas), Emily Alabi (California), Junior Alabi (California), Edwin Rivera (California, Puerto Rico), Javier Rebollar (Mexico, California), Ekaterina “Katya” Ivanova (Russia, California), Evelyn Chavez (California), Luc Tshiboyi (Florida), Lasensua (Canada, Maui), Nayara Nunez (Cuba), Rico Bravo Productions (Seattle) and Cristian Oviedo (Santa Monica, California).

Event deejays include DJ Voss (Mexico, California), DJ Rafael (Peru, Maui), DJ Rod Moreno (Honolulu), DJ Judah da Lion (Honolulu), DJ Ever (Honolulu), and DJ Mello (Chicago).?
