Lahaina Arts Society to hold annual meeting

LAHAINA – Lahaina Arts Society will hold its annual membership meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pioneer Inn on Wednesday, June 27.

From 6 to 7 p.m., there will be light pupus and a cash bar.

At 7 p.m., guest speaker Ed Lyman will talk. Lyman is the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary’s natural resources management specialist.

He has worked with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration for more than 23 years, networking with the community and participating in over 100 disentanglement efforts that freed 23 large whales.

LAS’ new executive director, Bill Smith, and new Board of Trustees members will be introduced, and special awards will be presented.

Lahaina Arts Society is celebrating its 50th year of showcasing, mentoring and networking with Maui children and adult artists through its galleries in the historic Old Lahaina Courthouse in Banyan Tree Park.
