Award-winning orchids like these will be on display at the Maui Orchid Society Valentine's Day Show at Maui Mall on Feb. 9 through 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

KAHULUI – What’s more everlasting than a box of chocolates on Valentine’s Day? An exotic orchid that will keep on giving year after year!

The Maui Orchid Society Valentine’s Day Show and Sale offers the best of the best for that sweet someone in your life.

Conveniently scheduled for Feb. 9 through 11 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at Maui Mall in Kahului, the American Orchid Society-accredited exhibit hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The display showcases the winning blooms that our AOS-certified judges selected, from all the plants submitted by Maui Orchid Society members.

Local commercial members offer many of the orchids for sale; prices range from $7.

Since 1941, the Maui Orchid Society, a Hawaii nonprofit, is all about sharing and raising awareness. Members will be available during the three-day display to answer questions regarding their growth and care.

“In our tropical environment, growing orchids on Maui is within the reach of all,” President Bert Akitake said, inviting: “Look for us at the Maui Mall.”
