Bill Maher is bringing “MAHERMAGEDDON” to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Friday, Jan. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

WAILUKU – Bill Maher is returning to Maui for his fifth annual New Year’s Day stand-up comedy show, and this year he’s bringing some friends: David Spade and Jeff Ross.

“MAHERMAGEDDON” is set for Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.

For more than 20 years, Maher has set the boundaries of where funny political talk can go on American television.

First on “Politically Incorrect,” and for the last 13 years on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him 34 Emmy nominations and a win in 2014 as executive producer for the HBO series “Vice.”

His uproarious and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, “Religulous,” has gone on to become the eighth highest grossing documentary ever.

In addition, Maher has written five bestsellers, including the most recent, “The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody But Me Has Their Head Up Their A**.”

Don’t miss this evening with the brilliantly funny Maher and his unique take on our world, along with the skewering “Roast Master General,” Jeff Ross, and the wise-cracking star of “Saturday Night Live,” “Joe Dirt,” “Tommy Boy” and more, David Spade.

This show may include mature subject matter. Tickets are $79.50 or $99.50; call 242-SHOW.
