Sheraton highlights Worldwide Voyage with Maui Craft Session 2015
KAANAPALI – Celebrating the craft industries of spirits, beers, cigars and the culinary arts, the third annual Maui Craft Session will highlight the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s Malama Honua Worldwide Voyage and the influence of sharing cultural traditions around the globe and working together to improve the health of our oceans and environment.
The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Maui Brewing Company, Southern Wine and Spirits, Ocean Vodka, Maui Stone Craft Beverages and Cigar Bar Hawaii are partnering together to stage the event on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton’s Ocean Lawn.
“This year’s event will allow connoisseurs and aficionados to connect on a deeper level to the cicerones, and master distillers, as well as master navigators of Hokule’a and Hikianalia. The journey and mixing of cultures and techniques have left such a distinctive mark on the styles of brews and spirits available today,” explained Brian Hunnings, executive assistant manager of the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.
“The evening will also feature a culinary throw down of some of Maui’s top culinary talents.”
In addition to the signature event on the Ocean Lawn, the 2015 Maui Craft Session will include a series of seminars throughout the day led by industry experts, including Dr. Thomas Turner, master of whisky for Diageo; Bill Scott, master distiller for Organic Ocean Vodka; and Darren Moser, director of brewing operations for Maui Brewing Company.
Tickets are available at $95 for general admission and $125 for VIP tickets, which allow early access to the event. To register, visit www.sheraton-maui.com.
