Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua launches ‘Artists’ Collection’ series

Contemporary artist Robena — whose artwork is pictured — is joined by Fiama Von Shuetze, Colly Norman and Bryant Neal on Fridays in The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua’s lobby.

KAPALUA – The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua recently unveiled its new “Artists’ Collection” series, where Maui artisans display their specialized works of art. In this unique format, visitors are encouraged to interact and engage with the artisans.

“We are excited to launch The Artists-in-Residence Program at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua and have the opportunity to share the works of Maui’s most notable artists and artisans with our guests from around the world,” said Alex Ahluwalia, the resort’s general manager.

“Each artist brings their own distinctive perspective to this unique meet-the-artist experience and allows our guests to take a piece of Maui home with them.”

The local community and visitors are invited to come out and experience the “Artists’ Collection” daily from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the lobby. The current lineup and schedule includes:

Monday – Christina Dehoff (visionary artist), Rob DeCamp (photography), Jim Smith (hand-carved wood and fused glass), and Sheri Levin McNerthney (hand-painted silks);

Tuesday – Anita Marci (acrylic painter), Jason Moore (photography) and Marilyn Anderson (fused glass);

Wednesday – Roxanne Broadbent (acrylic surfboard painter), Scott Reither (photography), Rick Strini (hand-blown art glass) and Marylyn Holland (meditation art in bronze);

Thursday – Mary Faustine (watercolor, oil and encaustics), Bob & Sandra Lercari (kiln-formed art glass), Jim Meekhof (Hawaiian wood turnings) and Kim Mosley (sculpture);

Friday – Robena (contemporary representational artist), Fiama Von Shuetze (basket fiber art), Colly Norman (Blue Maui Ukuleles) and Bryant Neal (antique and vintage maps and prints);

Saturday – Kari McCarthy (oil landscapes), Janet Davis (mixed media paintings), Jason Moore (photography) and Tim Garcia (sculpture);

Sunday – Melissa Chimera (botanical paintings), Sandra Clark (textiles), Jeremy Delos Reyes (native canoes) and Demian Dressler (vibrant abstracts).

Artwork from the collection is available for purchase through the Kilohana Boutique at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. All items and artwork can be shipped upon request and arranged with the artist directly.
