Top slack key guitar musicians to perform at free festival

Bobby Moderow Jr. is among the guitarists slated to perform at the 24th annual Ki Ho‘alu Festival.

KAHULUI – The 24th annual Ki Ho’alu Festival – a showcase of Hawaii’s great slack key guitar musicians presented in a laid-back, local-style outdoor event – is set for Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m. in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s A&B Amphitheater. Admission is free.

Bring your own beach chair, blanket or lauhala mat to stretch out on the lawn and enjoy an afternoon of music from mid-day until dusk.

This year’s lineup includes Bobby Moderow Jr., Stephen Inglis, Paul Togioka, Michael Keale, Glen Smith, Kawika Kahiapo, Aja Gample, Dwight Kanae, Peter Apo, George Kahumoku Jr. & Friends, Kevin & Ikaika Brown, Danny Carvalho, George Kuo, Donald Kaulia, and Ola Hou.
