By Staff | Jun 11, 2015

Diana Ross has sold over 100 million records and recorded 18 #1 hits. Her music became the sound of young America in the 1960s soon after she signed with Motown Records in 1961 with The Supremes. She embarked on her extraordinary solo career in 1970 and has not stopped since.

KAHULUI – With a career spanning over six decades, it’s inconceivable to think international superstar Diana Ross has never performed in Hawaii. That is all about to change, as the legend brings her magical live stage production to the islands.

Ross will perform at 7:30 p.m. on June 14-15 in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.

The concert, a full theatrical experience, will include breathtaking costumes and stage design, along with her incredible band.

Reviews for her current production have been stellar. “Diana Ross held the fortunate (audience) in the palm of her hand from the beginning, and never let them go,” wrote a Star Telegram critic.

Ross has had a profound influence on American popular culture and has become an icon in the entertainment industry. She is an Academy Award-nominated actress for her unforgettable role as Billie Holiday in “Lady Sings The Blues,” a Tony and Golden Globe winner, a bestselling author, winner of eight American Music Awards and a Grammy for Lifetime Achievement, and a recipient of The Kennedy Center Honors. Her reputation as a woman of great style and beauty has put her on the covers of hundreds of magazines.
