KAHULUI – The Maui Brewers Festival, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s seventh annual tribute to craft brews from the Mainland and Hawaii, will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The VIP Happy Hour for the festival starts at 2:30 p.m.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of craft beer tasting with a wide variety of ales and island-style pupus, along with live music, prizes and lots of fun.

Staged by the MACC in association with Maui Brewing Co. and Paradise Beverages, this is a perennial “Maui favorite” festival to kick off the summer. Enjoy specialty and craft brews by dozens of breweries from Hawaii and the Mainland, as well as scrumptious pupu samplers from many of Maui’s fine chefs.

There will be 37 breweries and 24 restaurants and caterers participating in the festival in the A&B Amphitheater this year. Some perennial favorites will return, but there will be exciting new tastes in both food and beverages. The food tastings will include both savory and sweet temptations.

Breweries selected to participate in the festival are invited because of their commitment to making craft beer with an emphasis on quality, flavor and locally sourced ingredients. There will also be bottled water, coffee drinks and locally crafted, alcohol-free root beer.

Entrance to the festival includes a commemorative glass to use in sampling eight 4-ounce pours of beer. There will be live music for entertainment, as well as prize giveaways from the participating breweries and the MACC.

Official Maui Brewers Festival T-shirts, created by Crazy Shirts, will be available for purchase.

The VIP Happy Hour package costs $110. Festival tickets are available for $60 in advance and $70 the day of the event. Call 242-SHOW or visit www.MauiArts.org for tickets. All attendees must be over age 21 and bring current valid photo ID for entry into the venue.

VIP Happy Hour tickets allow exclusive early entry to the grounds from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and access to the Rare Beer Tasting area in Yokouchi Pavilion, featuring many special brews that can’t be purchased in retail stores. The package also includes an official 2015 Maui Brewers Festival T-shirt and souvenir cup-holder lanyard.

Proceeds benefit the MACC’s many educational programs for students, teachers and seniors, as well as the many free events offered to the Maui County community. Festival sponsors include Maui Brewing Co., Paradise Beverages and Crazy Shirts.
