‘The Queue’ combines dance and theater

By Staff | Feb 5, 2015

“The Queue” unfolds in a fictional airport where travelers stumble humorously, tragically and awkwardly into the high stakes of each other’s private lives.

KAHULUI – Lucky Plush Productions will present “The Queue” on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater

Equal parts dance and theater, “The Queue” unfolds in a fictional airport where travelers stumble humorously, tragically and awkwardly into the high stakes of each other’s private lives.

“The Queue” features “clever choreography, danced with exquisite freedom and expression by the cast (that) flows out of everyday movement and early 20th-century forms,” a Chicago Tribune critic wrote.

A live musician from The Claudettes will perform with the dancers.

This is a fun production for dance lovers… or anyone who’s ever waited in line at the airport!

Tickets are $12, $35 or $45; call the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Box Office at 242-SHOW.
