Celebrate the holidays at gala to benefit Maui children

The evening’s entertainment at “Hawaiian Holidaze” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. includes local hula dancers and island favorite George Kahumoku Jr. (above), a multiple Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning master slack key guitarist.
WAILUKU – Maui Family Support Services Inc. (MFSS) is hosting a gala “Hawaiian Holidaze” benefit in the gardens at the Bailey House Museum on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The event will benefit the nonprofit MFSS, a leader in child abuse prevention and family strengthening services. MFSS has supported children and families in Maui County for 34 years. Its programs range from infant and toddler centers to parenting groups, services specifically for dads, home visiting programs and programs for at-risk youth in Department of Education schools. MFSS served more than 5,000 families in Maui County in 2013.
This year’s dinner event features local Hawaiian entertainment and a Hawaiian buffet catered by Da Kitchen, along with a silent auction that provides ample opportunities to do some last-minute shopping. The silent auction items include a luxurious beach getaway.
The historic Bailey House Museum will be open for attendees from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a tour offered at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the adults-only “Hawaiian Holidaze” event are $45 per person. For more information about the benefit, or to order tickets, call Maui Family Support Services at 242-0900 or the Bailey House Museum at 244-3326. Tickets can also be ordered online at www.mfss.org.
