Lahaina Arts Society to hold 47th birthday celebration

Art in Action projects — including tie-dye, face painting and keiki art activities — will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Arts Society will celebrate 47 years of supporting the Maui artist community with “Art in the Park” festivities on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 22-23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the historic Lahaina Banyan Tree.

In addition to LAS’ fine art fair, there will be live entertainment by Darren Lee, Maui Jam and many more. There will also be keiki art projects, a tie-dye workshop, face painting and birthday cake.

Events on Saturday include Tess Cartwright’s “Art of Trash” from noon to 5 p.m. and entertainment by the Maui Prep Band from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Darren Lee of “Burn’n Love” from noon to 12:30 p.m., Maui Jam from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and Dan Saunders from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Sunday’s schedule includes free birthday cake at noon and entertainment by Max Angel from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Dan Saunders from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Maui Jam from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and keiki hula with Jan Kitaguchi from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
