By Staff | May 29, 2014

Performing Hawaiian and island reggae music, Desmond Yap has been on the island’s music scene for more than 20 years.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s popular Hawaiian Music Series of free monthly concerts continues on Thursday, May 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Desmond Yap & Friends.

Join them on the lawn in front of the Baldwin Home Museum (corner of Dickenson and Front streets) for a relaxing, entertaining evening as the sun sets behind Lanai.

Born and raised on Maui, Yap is a singer and songwriter who goes by the professional name of “Dezman.”

He is an accomplished recording artist whose most recent CD, “Dezman,” featured the hit song “Noble Soljah.”

At this month’s concert in Lahaina, he will be playing with Jesse Smith and Patrick Mayoga.

Chairs are limited; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome.

This concert is part of the foundation’s ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program supported by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the county Office of Economic Development.
