Curt Yagi to tour Maui

Curt Yagi will play at The Outlets of Maui at 900 Front St. on Saturday, April 19, from noon to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
LAHAINA – Curt Yagi, a featured musician on Maui’s own Q103, announced a music tour of Maui from April 17-21 in support of “Good Life,” his new, island-flavored, five-song release.
The San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “2008 Best of the Bay Singer-Songwriter” has performed on various TV shows and at live venues, including San Francisco’s The Fillmore. His song “Sweep Me” was featured on a popular radio station’s CD in 2012.
Yagi will play on Friday, April 18, at 6 p.m. at Makawao’s Third Friday Town Party; Friday at 10 p.m. at Casanova in Makawao; Saturday, April 19, from noon to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Outlets of Maui in Lahaina; Sunday, April 20, at 10 p.m. at Dog & Duck Irish Pub in Kihei; and Monday, April 21, at 10 p.m. at Diamonds Ice Bar and Grill in Kihei.
Yagi’s songs are delivered in an inimitable and endearingly charismatic persona the San Francisco Bay Gazette describes as “the swagger of Lenny Kravitz and the lyrical prowess of Jack Johnson.” The San Francisco Chronicle called Yagi “a talented songwriter who sings – like Kenny Loggins.”
AsianWeek.com called the long-time San Francisco resident, and fourth-generation Japanese-American, a “must-see entertainer,” describing his music as “filled with percussive guitar licks, breathy vocals, rhythmic beats and driving bass lines, (that) will keep you going the entire day.”
