Heli Silva-Ducaroy and Ken Makuakane will perform on the Baldwin Home lawn on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

LAHAINA – Moved up in the calendar due to the town’s Halloween celebration, Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s popular Hawaiian Music Series will feature Heli Silva-Ducaroy and special guest Kenneth Makuakane on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Baldwin Home lawn in Lahaina.

Silva-Ducaroy hails from Molokai and was raised by her tutu, Heli Peelua. Her love and appreciation for Hawaiian music afforded her performances at some of Hawaii’s most renowned entertainment venues.

In the late 1990s, she recorded her first Hawaiian music album entitled “Ka Ohana Alii,” which was distributed through her production company, Ka Ohana Alii Fine Music and Hula.

Her musical endeavors include collaborations with famed Hawaii artists like Pueo Pata and Atta Damasco.

In 2009, Silva-Ducaroy relocated to Europe, sharing her music and knowledge of Hawaii. Currently, she serves as island operations manager for Discover Hawaii Tours on Maui.

Special guest Makuakane is recognized as a successful producer and recording artist.

He has over 100 albums in his producing credits. As a prolific songwriter, his compositions have been recorded by the Brothers Cazimero, Na Leo, Kapena, the Pandanus Club, Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom, Loyal Garner and Gary Haleamau, as well as international artists from Japan like Yuri Chika and Yuki Miyamae. His songs have even been performed many times over at the annual Merrie Monarch Hula Festival.

Makuakane produced a track on Kenny Loggins’ 2000 CD release, “More Songs from Pooh Corner,” and his music has been on the soundtrack of major films such as “Honeymoon in Vegas” and “Parent Trap in Paradise.”

Relax under the stars and enjoy this free concert brought to you by Lahaina Restoration Foundation. The combination of live Hawaiian music, award-winning restaurants and vibrant shops create the setting for a perfect evening in Lahaina Town.

Chairs are limited; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome. The Baldwin Home Museum is located in the heart of Lahaina on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets.

This concert is part of the foundation’s ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program supported by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and county Office of Economic Development.
