Church to show ‘Home Run’

By Staff | Aug 15, 2013

In “Home Run,” a professional baseball player with a substance abuse problem is ordered to enter rehab in his home town. He finds hope when he gets real about his troubled past, and becomes coach for a Little League team of misfits.

LAHAINA – Beach Ministry Community Church will show the inspirational movie “Home Run” at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14-15 inside their building at West Maui Center, 910-A Honoapiilani Highway.

The movie will also be shown outdoors at the same location at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16-17. Admission is free for all showings.

Beach Ministry Community Church is starting a new Celebrate Recovery 12-step program on Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

“Is life overwhelming you? ‘Wounds’ sound like your reality? ‘Health’ seems pretty elusive? Are you feeling that there MUST be more to life than you’re experiencing? God doesn’t want you to keep hurting like that. And He has provided a way for you to heal, to recover from the hurts, habits and hang-ups that are making your life unmanageable,” the church noted.

“Celebrate Recovery might not be what you think! It’s not a gimmick or a quick fix. It’s a process and program that will bring God’s power and healing into your life.”
