Hawaiian Music Series to feature Rama Camarillo & Sons
LAHAINA – Great live Hawaiian music continues on Front Street as the Hawaiian Music Series features Rama Camarillo and sons Kamaka and Kala’e on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Home lawn in Lahaina.
Rama learned how to play the ukulele from his father while attending Waiakea Intermediate School on the Big Island. As Rama’s love for Hawaiian music grew, he shared his passion with his sons.
Kamaka and Kala’e, 2006 and 2009 graduates of Kamehameha Schools Maui, decided to share these lessons and their love of music with the rest of Hawaii.
Their musical talents have led them to win many competitions throughout the state, including Tom Moffat’s band championship title.
They perform at various venues throughout Oahu and have opened concerts for the groups America and the Stylistics at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
Relax under the stars and enjoy this free concert brought to you by Lahaina Restoration Foundation. The combination of great Hawaiian music, award-winning restaurants and vibrant shops create the setting for a perfect evening in Lahaina Town.
Chairs are limited; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome. The Baldwin Home Museum is located on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets. Call 661-3262 or visit www.lahainarestoration.org.
