George Kahumoku Jr.’s ‘Seeds of Aloha’ documentary to premiere

West Sider George Kahumoku Jr. is known for his aloha spirit. Filmed over a year, “Seeds Of Aloha” features Kahumoku’s recollections, along with commentary by 88 of his fellow musicians, friends and students telling his story.

WAILUKU – The world premiere of George Kahumoku Jr.’s “Seeds of Aloha” documentary film will be held at the Iao Theater in Wailuku on Thursday, April 4.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., followed by live music at 7 p.m. featuring Kahumoku and friends. The film will be screened from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Directed by David Barry of Makai Studios, “Seeds Of Aloha” tells the story of an extraordinary life lived by “Hawaii’s Renaissance Man,” Kahumoku.

Advanced tickets are available for $12 at www.SlackKeyShow.com or by phone at 669-3858. A free gift of Kahumoku’s homegrown Mamaki Tea goes to each advance ticket holder. On the day of the show, tickets will be $15.
