Prince Kuhio Ho‘olaule‘a to feature free health checks

Called “Ke Ali‘i Maka‘ainana” (Prince of People), Kuhio is well-known for his efforts to protect, preserve and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and people.

LAHAINA – Featuring entertainment and keiki games, the Prince Kuhio Ho’olaule’a will be held Saturday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Keawaiki (Banyan Tree Park).

Continuing his legacy of taking care of Hawaii’s people, this year’s Kuhio celebrations are focusing on the fight against obesity.

At the event, check your health vitals with Pili ‘Ohana and Kuini Pi’olani Hawaiian Civic Club and receive a plant from Maui Nui Botanical Gardens.

The day’s entertainment slate includes Dane Fujiwara & Friends, Halau Na Puamelia and Kulewa.

Keiki can try pa’ani keiki (kid games) with Kula Kaiapuni ma Princess Nahienaena.

The event will also feature Hana lei (lei making) with the Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club, mea’ai (food) by the Lahaina Hawaiian Civic Club, and Maui made crafters and artisians.

The Prince Kuhio Maui Ho’olaule’a Planning Committee warmly invites everyone to commemorate and celebrate our ali’i at the free event.
