Bells will ring with resounding joy this holiday season

By Staff | Dec 6, 2012

The rich harmony of over 80 heavenly voices under the direction of Gale Wisehart and Uluwehi Guerrero will fill your heart with joy.

WAILUKU – When you think of the holidays, you often think of family and friends, sharing precious moments with those you love and the joy that comes from listening to your favorite holiday music.

Because of this fact, Maui’s Hawaiian community choir, Na Leo Lani O Maui, invites everyone to join them for their fourth annual holiday concert, “The Bells Ring Out,” at the historic Iao Theatre in Wailuku.

The thrill of seeing the group’s holiday show has been in such high demand that they have scheduled two concerts for 2012: an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, and an afternoon matinee on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m.

Na Leo Lani O Maui has been described as an inspiration, and attendees at their 2011 concert will attest to the amazing feeling one has experiencing the choir’s passion for song, Hawaiian culture and language, and the holiday season.

Doors will open 45 minutes in advance for each performance. Assigned-seating tickets are $20 each, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Symphonic Band, directed by Everrett Lee Yamashita, in their effort to raise funds to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City early in 2013.

Bring your family and friends, for this holiday show is one not to be missed.

Tickets are available now; call Richard Castro at (808) 281-6547.
