WAILUKU – On Thanksgiving weekend, join Dorothy, her little dog, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion on their adventure off to see “The Wizard of Oz.”
“The Wizard of Oz,” directed by Alexis Dascoulias, runs Nov. 23 through Dec. 9 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater. The performance on Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. will be a family discount night.
The play features music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company and based on the 1939 MGM film.
This version, first presented in London in 1988, was adapted to follow the famous motion picture closer than any other previous adaptations.
