Artists to crank up their chain saws for International Ice Sculpting Competition

In the competition, artists carve blocks of ice into art in 90 minutes.
LAHAINA – Maui’s popular International Ice Sculpting Exhibition and Competition returns to Lahaina Cannery Mall on Nov. 10-11.
The two-day event features artists from Japan and across Hawaii firing up their chain saws and turning ice into art.
The ice chips fly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, as visiting artists from Japan demonstrate their skills in a freestyle ice carving exhibition.
Pride and prize money are on the line on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as artists sculpt huge blocks of ice in a 90-minute, head-to-head competition.
The art will be on display throughout the weekend. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Also this month, the West Maui Health and Fitness Expo returns to Lahaina Cannery Mall on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The free fair will feature health and fitness exhibits, demonstrations, prizes and giveaways.
