Wharf to host Ghoulish Gala Karaoke Costume Contest

The 29th annual Ghoulish Gala Karaoke Costume Contest is set for 7 to 10 p.m. on Halloween at The Wharf Cinema Center.
LAHAINA – The Wharf Cinema Center on Oct. 31 will present the 29th annual Ghoulish Gala Karaoke Costume Contest and eighth annual Keiki Karaoke Contest.
The Keiki Contest takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. The gala starts at 7 and ends at 10 p.m. Contestants must be in costume to qualify. Winners will be awarded prizes worth over $1,500 in Wharf Bucks, plus activities, travel, meals and gifts from The Wharf Shops & Restaurants.
Admission and registration are free. Keiki registration begins at 5 and ends at 6 p.m. Adult registration is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Lahaina’s own Toddy Lilikoi will emcee the contest.
On Halloween, face painting will be offered by Seaside Henna at the front of the Wharf Cinema Center from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the “Halloweenville” display will be open on the lower level from 9:30 a.m. until Casper says, “Goodnight.”
Following the Ghoulish Gala, entertainment continues at The Wharf’s restaurants. Cool Cat Cafe will present “Night of the Living Dread” with Marty Dread from 10 p.m. to closing, Jay’s Place will feature a live deejay from 9 p.m. to closing, Amigo’s will have the Nacho “El Mariachi” band performing from 6 to 10 p.m., and Blue Lagoon Lahaina will have “Deejay Kamakazee” of Q103FM from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
