Maui J.A.M. — from left, Al Nip, Mika Villaren and Jon Toda — will perform a free concert in Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Hawaiian Music Series.

LAHAINA – Enjoy the music of Lahaina’s own Maui J.A.M. on Thursday, April 26, on the Baldwin Home lawn from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Made up of original members Jon Toda, Al Nip and Mika Villaren, the band brings their own unique flare to Hawaiian music.

Established in the early 1980s, Maui J.A.M. was nominated for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award for their “Aloha Kalikimaka” album.

Their latest CD, “Kalakoa,” reflects how the group has evolved over the years.

Toda has been playing music for the past 25 years while serving as director of technology at Seabury Hall.

Nip, a professional musician since 1975, recently retired from Lahainaluna High School after 31 years as a business educator and coordinator of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism.

Villaren shares his passion for Hawaiian music and zest for life as the third member of the group.

Together, the first initials of their names create the band sensation Maui J.A.M.

Relax under the stars and enjoy the free concert brought to you by Lahaina Restoration Foundation. The combination of great live Hawaiian music, award-winning restaurants and vibrant shops create a great setting for a perfect evening out on the town.

Chairs are limited; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome. The Baldwin Home Museum is located in the heart of Lahaina on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets.
