Theatre Theatre Maui announces summer program
LAHAINA – Theatre Theatre Maui (TTM) last week announced its annual youth drama program will be held from June 12 to July 22.
Established in Lahaina to bring the hands-on performing arts experience to the West Maui community, the organization will hold its 20th summer program providing training in drama, music, dance and stage production.
This summer, “The Wizard of Oz” is the musical that students will rehearse and perform at the end of the six-week program.
Enrollment is open to students entering the fourth grade and up in the coming 2012-13 school year.
Hours will be expanded this summer to 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program will be led by returning Summer Program Director Kristi Scott and a creative team of instructors.
Classes will be held Monday through Friday on the campus of Lahainaluna High School for the first five weeks. During the final, sixth week, students will rehearse daily in Kaanapali, presenting public performances at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa.
Program rates are still reasonable at $375 per student for the entire six-week program. A limited amount of financial aid may be available for eligible families, and an early-bird rate is offered at $360, discounted for cash/check only payments received by May 15.
Registration forms will be available at each West Side school and through TTM. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis with the completion of TTM’s forms and tuition payment. Contact Louisa Shelton at TTMWestMaui@aol.com or 661-1168 for forms.
