Public invited to webinar on Maui wildfires and Lahaina healthcare efforts
HONOLULU — The next episode of Conversations at HMA will feature a discussion with Maui-based physicians Elizabeth A. Ignacio, MD and Vijak Ayasanonda, MD.
They will lead a discussion on the latest healthcare efforts in the aftermath of the Lahaina wildfires. Both physicians have been directly involved with Maui recovery efforts from beginning.
“Conversations at HMA Webinar – Lahaina Healthcare Efforts” is set for Friday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1 p.m.
The public is invited to this live webinar and will have the opportunity to submit questions during the session. It will also be recorded and made available on the Hawaii Medical Association’s YouTube channel.

Ignacio is an Interventional Radiologist and Board President-Elect and Chair of the Advocacy Committee of the Hawaii Medical Association. Since 2022, she has served on the Hawaii Medical Board.
Ayasanonda is an Emergency Medicine physician and the Deputy Director of the Department of Health on Maui, coordinating West Side medical services, including healthcare, transportation services, protocol reentry advice, and advocacy for displaced residents. He was previously the Chief of Staff for Maui Memorial Medical Center.
