‘Meet the Leading Ladies of Maui’ at special Rotary event

House District 14 Rep. Elle Cochran is one of the “Leading Ladies of Maui” who will participate in the May 6 event.
KAHULUI — The nine Rotary Clubs of Maui announced a special event that addresses the Rotary International Empowering Girls and Women Initiative worldwide.
The event is entitled “Meet the Leading Ladies of Maui,” and it will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the University of Hawaii Maui College Noi’i Building on the second floor.
Any female who is interested may attend to learn how ten “Leading Ladies of Maui” became leaders in our community, and the participants can receive tips on how they can become an empowered woman themselves.
The target audience is high school girls, who will be admitted free courtesy of the nine Maui Rotary Clubs. Adults may register for the event at the cost is $25.
Ten “Leading Ladies” have been confirmed: Terez Amato, Roz Baker, Gladys Baisa, Elle Cochran, Savannah Gankiewicz, Monique Ibarra, Monica Morrow, Teena Rasmussen, Leslie Wilkins and Dr. Rebecca Winkie.
The attendees will be treated to an afternoon tea, all will interact with the leading ladies in small groups, and all attendees will participate in a community service project. The participants will stuff goodie bags of feminine hygiene products for Ka Hale A Ke Ola Resource Center.
