LAHAINA — On a recent weekend, the three West Maui Rotary Clubs held very successful drives to collect school supplies for children in need. Twenty-two boxes of school supplies and over $1,100 in funds were collected during the three days of the campaign effort.

On Friday, July 22, the Rotary Club of Lahaina held this project for the children of Lahaina Intermediate School.

On Saturday, July 23, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset held the project for the children of Princess Nahienaena Elementary and Hana Schools.

On Sunday, July 24, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise held the project for the students of King Kamehameha III Elementary School. Collected supplies and funds will be delivered to the three schools later this month.

The three Rotary Clubs would like to offer their sincere thanks to the Lahaina Cannery Mall and CBRE Property Management Pacific Southwest for allowing the clubs to set up their collection tables and tents at the mall entrance next to Longs Drugs.

Without such support from these agencies, the drives would not have been able to take place.

This School Supplies Drive is one of the many community service projects sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of West Maui. Rotary is a leadership organization made up of local businesses, professional and civic leaders.
