LAHAINA — Theatre Theatre Maui (TTM) wrapped up its 30th summer season of youth theatre culminating in four live performances of “Matilda Jr. – The Musical” with a cast of 37, ranging in age from eight to 18.

Concurrently held was a series of three 2-week sessions of “Kamp Krazy Tales” for the younger set, age 5-9. Kristi Scott of Great Scott Productions led the creative team that included Francis Tau’a, Felicia Chernicki-Wulf, Aida Rose, Kathleen Schulz, Victoria Navarro, Jason Jerome, Annabehl Sinclair-Delaney, MaryBeth Chin and Jennifer Kasper.

Much support was provided by volunteers Rebecca Tinkler and Rory Delaney, and student interns Makani Aniban, Gianna Bauchman, Kawailani Cashman, Sebastian Navarro, Naara Tinkler and Mia Utrillo.

Heartfelt thanks for the generosity extended to TTM by this summer’s venue provider, Maui Preparatory Academy, as well as T-Shirt Sponsor and Photographer Ray Chin. TTM also directed their mahalos to the community of parents and keiki for their trust and to the many volunteers, donors, sponsors and grantors who provide invaluable support to make such programs possible: the County of Maui’s Office of Economic Development, Fuzz Box Studio, Lahaina Cannery Mall, Lahaina Music, Lahaina News, MAPA, Maui Family Magazine, Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate, Maui OnStage, Maui Visitor Industry Charity Walk, Na Hoaloha Ekolu, Outlets of Maui, ProArts, Somerville-Ollson Charitable Trust, Village Audio, Sky Delaney, Lisa Hawks & Debbie Brooks, Kathleen Schulz, Rob & Louisa Shelton, and Mihaela Stoops.

Special thanks also to Old Lahaina Luau, where TTM staged their rummage and bake sale in July, and to all the businesses who donated to TTM’s silent auctions and to all participants of these fundraisers.

The proceeds from TTM’s fundraisers and other summertime donations are part of TTM’s fundraising efforts for the 43rd Maui Visitor Industry Charity Walk, which returns as an in-person event scheduled on Aug. 20. For more information, and to register and/or donate, go to https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/Maui/team/ttmwestmaui or text MAUI305 to 71777.

TTM’s free after-school drama club and class series are also soon to return for West Side keiki as school campus restrictions continue to ease. Plans are underway to hold classes on Tuesdays at Lahaina Intermediate School; parents are encouraged to contact TTM for more information.

During the month of September, watch for TTM’s banner to be displayed at Lahaina Foodland for Foodland’s annual “Give Aloha” fundraising campaign. TTM’s number is 78402: present your Maika’i card at checkout and let the cashier know how much you want to contribute to TTM.

In addition to Give Aloha, TTM is also one of the nonprofit beneficiaries of Maui Ku’ia Estate’s Chocolate Laulima Giving Program. Visit www.mauichocolate.com to locate the TTM page for specific products to purchase, and in turn TTM receives 40 percent of the proceeds from each sale contributed back to them. This is another way to show your support through a local business.

TTM is now into its 30th year of providing its programs and is grateful for any and all support. It remains dedicated to providing low-cost and free programming for the keiki on the West Side.
