The First Tee of Hawaii/Maui seeking coaches from all professions

By Staff | May 6, 2022

The First Tee Hawaii, a 501(c)(3) youth organization dedicated to teaching keiki the fundamentals of golf and life skills, is looking for parents, coaches and volunteers for the 2022 season.

The First Tee national headquarters will be providing training for entry-level coaches on May 20-21 at the Ala Wai Golf Center in Honolulu and May 22-23 at the Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului.

All training is provided free of charge. All levels of players and non-players from other professions are encouraged to volunteer and help inspire young people to look to the future, set goals and unlock their potential.

Coaches don’t need to be a professional instructor or scratch player to make a difference. If you have an interest in golf and positively impacting the lives of youth, there are many ways to get involved!

Volunteer opportunities are available as Assistant Golf Coaches, On-Course Mentors, Registration Administrators, Golf Equipment Coordinators, Safety Coordinators and Special Events Coordinators and Assistants.

Volunteers are asked to commit to an average of two hours per week depending on your schedule.

The First Tee Hawaii and the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association are a combined 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that introduces the game of golf and its traditions to the youth of Hawaii.

A background check and SafeSport training is required of all First Tee Hawaii coaches and volunteers.

All enthusiastic adults and volunteers are encouraged to apply at https://firstteehawaii.org/volunteer/.
