Hearing set for proposed rules for firing range
WAILUKU — The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation has scheduled an online public hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed adoption of an amendment to the rules to require firearms to be registered.
Any interested person may submit data, views, arguments or other testimony, orally or in writing, at the hearing.
The proposed amendment is in accordance with Chapter 134, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that affect changes to the use and operation of the Ukumehame Firing Range.

Written testimony may be submitted by mail to Department of Parks and Recreation, Permits Office, 700 Halia Nakoa St., Unit 2-C, Wailuku, HI 96793. Written testimony must be received by the department before the close of the online public hearing on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
At the conclusion of the online hearing, the department may take action on the proposed rule amendments, or defer and announce a date when department action will occur.
