Maui Ocean Center general manager to speak at Rotary meeting

Tapani Vuori will share information about Maui Ocean Center and its programs at the Oct. 19 Zoom meeting.
LAHAINA — Tapani Vuori, the general manager of Maui Ocean Center, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset ‘s Zoom meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
According to the club, “Vuori is a visionary for the future of our oceans. He is charismatic, multi-passionate, and a man of his word who doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
“Vuori lives the aquarium’s mission of fostering understanding, wonder and respect for Hawaii’s marine life and shares this message with everyone he encounters. A spirited caretaker of both the land and sea, he is determined to leave the island of Maui better than he found it for the generations to come.”
Vuori became the founder and president of the Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute, which serves to restore Hawaii’s coral reefs and rehabilitate injured Hawaiian green sea turtles.
