Jazz Maui, a program of Arts Education for Children Group (aecg.org), provides opportunities for participation in high-quality jazz music education and performances for students of all ages.
The nonprofit presented “Virtual Jazz in the Schools,” a program that provided assistance to music instructors faced with teaching music virtually. Internationally-renowned bassist, vocalist and music educator Katie Thiroux headed a staff of professional musicians who brought their expertise to benefit teachers and students.
Jazz Maui also presented “Jazz at the Empanada Lady,” a series of more than 20 live events that provided professional musicians and students with a weekly venue to perform and island residents an opportunity to enjoy live music in a safe, Covid-free environment.
Videos of these performances are available at the Jazz Maui website.
