LAHAINA — After School Music Club is back… and it has a whole new vibe!

Maui Music Mission has survived the pandemic and is now open with a new store at The Outlets of Maui, where Reuben Pali has been teaching and revitalizing the mission since October.

The heart of the music mission has always been the After School Music Club, where kids learn to play ukulele, piano, sing and perform on stage.

The program features popular and Hawaiian music, as well as musical comprehension, which gives you a very fun foundation in music to last a lifetime.

According to Pali, “Music is for life — no matter what age, gender, culture, color, status or spiritual beliefs. It’s an expression of the heart which we are all familiar with. Music speaks, and we listen!

“But for those of us who take the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument, we get to speak our soul through playing and creating music, especially with others!”

Pali’s program gives keiki the repetition that’s necessary for retention, but in a way that’s easy for them to accomplish.

The value is extraordinary for members, who get two hours at the music studio on three days per week for just $160 per month. Snacks are included, but the highlight is they all join together on all instruments — even drums — and sometimes take the stage every Friday!

Do your keiki need a ride from school to Maui Music Mission? The MMM-Mobile is back in action! You can include transportation in your membership for an extra $48.
