Blaze Kalilikane Memorial Scholarship awarded to LHS graduate Nalani Kirkman

Nalani Kirkman will be attending Menlo College in the fall and will study psychology and kinesiology.
WEST MAUI — The 2021 Blaze Kalilikane Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 was recently awarded to Nalani Kirkman, a 2021 Lahainaluna High School graduate. Nalani was a four-year wrestler and worked part time.
Blaze was a dedicated employee of the Masters at Kaanapali Hillside who perished at the young age of 20 in an auto accident on Honoapiilani Highway, a few yards south of the Olowalu transfer station on the mauka side, on Dec. 19, 2012. Established by Lois and Roger Ross to honor Blaze, they set up a scholarship funded by donations from owners, and Blaze’s family, to award a $1,000 scholarship to a Lahainaluna graduate. Blaze was a 2009 Lahainaluna graduate.
It is their intention to keep this scholarship an annual event in perpetuity.
