LAHAINA — The recently named science building, Hale ‘Epekema, and the administration building, now the H. Alton Rogers Building, received bronze signage thanks to a grant awarded to the Lahainaluna High School Archive Committee from the LHS Foundation.

Through the leadership of the Lahainaluna Archive Committee, the process began in 2007 of acquiring names for five previously unnamed buildings on campus.

LHS students, staff and the community all contributed to the selection of names, and a grant from the LHS Foundation paid for the cost of the signs and installation.

The Archive Committee is tasked with preserving the history of Lahainaluna High School.

Anyone in the community who has LHS artifacts to donate to the school may call the LHS office at 662-4000.

The yearbook collection is missing the 1969 yearbook; a donation would be welcomed.
