WEST MAUI – On Saturday, April 13, Maui Food Bank held its annual Spring Food Drive throughout the County of Maui.

On the West Side, at the Lahaina Town Foodland store and at Times Supermarket, Scout Kuha’o Murray led his team of fellow scouts of Troop 79 of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Lahaina First Ward, family members and other volunteers to stand by the stores to gather food and monetary donations for the Maui Food Bank.

Kuha’o and his team of volunteers were able to gather 1,663 pounds of assorted foods and $1,668 in monetary donations.

His Eagle project contributed to the 9,431 pounds of food collected throughout the county, along with $10,431 in monetary donations.

Overall, West Maui alone contributed one-tenth to the total amount gathered from around the county.

Murray thanked the Maui Food Bank, his fellow Scouts, family members and other volunteers for taking the time to assist him in his Eagle project.

He also thanked the West Side community and visitors for donating to this most worthy cause.
