New Lahainaluna High School Science Building needs a name

By Staff | Mar 28, 2019

Juniors Mary Dyer and Bre Higgs pause between classes at the Science Building water fountain.

LAHAINA – The Lahainaluna High School Historical Preservation Committee, also known as the Archive Committee, is asking the community for suggestions of names for its new Science Building.

The building is the former cafeteria, recently renovated, and adjacent to the new cafeteria.

Building names can give the facilities personality and purpose, and honor significant people and places.

Suggestions must be either a deceased person who has made a significant contribution to Lahainaluna, or a Hawaiian word that is appropriate to the facility.

Examples of current names of buildings are the Samuel M. Kamakau Library and Hale Iluna.

To offer a suggestion, click on the link http://bit.ly/NameLHSScienceBuilding and fill out and submit the form. Deadline for submissions is May 1, 2019.
