Meet local authors
LAHAINA – Maui Writers Ink will launch author Howard Fields’ latest book, “High Crimes and Misdemeanors,” at its Local Authors’ Table during Lahaina’s Second Friday Town Party on March 8 beginning at 5 p.m. at Campbell Park.
A journalist for United Press International in Washington, D.C., during the 1970s, Fields covered the total impeachment process from April 1973 until the resignation of President Nixon in August 1974. This interesting and timely book presents an insider’s view into the workings and various concerns of the House Judiciary Meetings he attended on behalf of UPI.
Malia Bohlin will present her best-seller, “Left at Hiva Oa,” an exciting tale based on a true story of an ocean adventure with dreams pursued and dangers faced on the high seas.
Oliver Gold will have his series presenting the male perspective of searching for true love on Maui, and Maui Writers Ink will have its two books, “Short Stories and Poems” and “Supernatural Tales,” available. Come meet the authors and have your purchases autographed.
Books may also be purchased at the Visitors Center in the Old Lahaina Courthouse, as well as Maui Friends of the Library Bookshops.
