Lahainaluna students to stage Trunk or Treat

By Staff | Oct 18, 2018

The students of the Lahainaluna High School Building and Construction Class rushed to build some doghouses for some of the families that were affected by the massive floods caused by Tropical Storm Olivia. They built six doghouses to help the families whose dogs lost their houses. LAHAINA – The community is invited to Lahainaluna High School’s Trunk or Treat event on Friday, Oct. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the school’s administration parking area.

Students will decorate the trunks of their cars, pass out candy and have games for children to play for free.

Future Farmers of America students will sell pumpkins, Academy of Hospitality and Tourism students will sell Lahainaluna gear and the Student Council will be selling food and drinks.

Admission is free to the event, which is safe and fun for all ages.

In related news, the Lahainaluna High School Future Farmers of America program will hold a Pumpkin Patch for West Side families at the school’s Agriculture Field (below the softball and football fields) on Saturday, Oct. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

Families and keiki are invited to come on up to the school and pick out a fresh, locally grown pumpkin to carve out for your Halloween festivities.

Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes will be sold at the second annual West Side Pumpkin Patch (prices will be determined by the size of the pumpkin). Only cash will be accepted for purchases.

With light refreshments and snacks, it will be a perfect day for you and your keiki.

Funds raised will be used to support Lahainaluna FFA members in travel costs to State FFA Conferences, leadership camps and field trips, and to provide scholarships for graduating seniors.
