Maui Lilikoi Festival a big success
NAPILI – Approximately 1,700 people attended the Maui Lilikoi Festival on Sept. 22 hosted by Napili Farmers Market.
“I saw a lot of happy faces at this family-friendly, community event, and the feeling was contagious. From the heavenly Hawaiian music, to the delicious food with a lilikoi twist, to the fun children’s activities to hula dancing, it was a joyful time for all. A big mahalo to all those who attended,” said Steve Phillips, one of the organizers.
Moku Roots won the Lilikoi Product Contest with its savory lilikoi burrito, followed by Maui Tropsicles for its lilikoi popsicle and Poppy Hudson for her lilikoi macadamia cheesecake.
There were 33 vendors offering locally made products and locally grown produce. Offerings included fresh baked bread, sweet baked goods, vegan pizza, acai bowls, crafts, jewelry, woodcarvings, coconuts, local mustard and sauerkraut, kombucha and vegan gelato.
The event organizers, made up of a group of vendors from Napili Farmers Market, plan to make this an annual event. The Napili Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It’s located just across Honoapiilani Highway from Napili Plaza.
