Maui Seasons for Peace to host annual U.N. International Day of Peace Event
KAHULUI – Maui Seasons for Peace will celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace with a concert to be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center from 1 to 5 p.m.
This celebration is held annually by the Maui Seasons for Peace organization to recognize the efforts of those who work hard to end conflict and promote peace.
Featured at this event will be local performing groups that represent the large variety of world cultures that live on Maui.
Groups that will be performing on Sept. 16 include Uncle George Kahumoku Jr. and Friends, Kamehameha Ukulele Band, Isle of Maui Pipe Band and other local artists.
Performances will continue each half hour for the duration of the concert.
This event will feature an “Info Expo.” Members of the public are invited to visit informational tables set up by a number of Maui nonprofit organizations.
Members of the public are invited to pick up a “Passport” to be stamped at the nonprofit tables. Accrue six or more stamps, then turn it in for door prize drawings.
Drawings will be held every 30 minutes and feature gift cards to local businesses, including Tin Roof Restaurant, Caf O’Lei and Tante’s Fish Market. Winners must be present to claim their prizes.
Spaces are still available for a nonprofit organization to host an informational table at this event.
