The Lahainaluna High School Band and Choir went on an eventful trip to Oahu during spring break.

LAHAINA – The Lahainaluna High School Band and Choir recently traveled to Oahu during spring break. They had the opportunity to perform at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

While on Oahu, they attended music clinics and a tour of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. To top off their week-long stay, they went to Dave and Buster’s, Ice Palace, Waikiki and Pearl Harbor.

The program thanked everyone who assisted the students in their fundraising efforts.

The Friends of Lahainaluna Music meet every first Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Lahainaluna Band Room. Parents, students and anyone interested in being part of the Lahainaluna Music Department are encouraged to attend the meetings. The next meeting will be held on May 4.

The band has been invited to perform in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego this Christmas. If anyone would like to make a donation to assist the band in getting there, e-mail friendsoflahainalunamusic@gmail.com.

The end-of-the-year concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, at the Jimmie H. Gymnasium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m. The public is invited.
