Alfredo V. Cudal, 69, of Lahaina passed away on Sept. 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 26, 1947 in Ilocos Norte, Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina. Mass will begin at 7 p.m., and burial will be in the Philippines at a later date.

Cudal worked at the Sheraton Maui as a landscaper.

He is survived by his wife, Estela Cudal, of Lahaina; son, Ronie (Marissa) Cudal of the Philippines; daughters, Gudencia (Herminio) Simon of Lahaina, Michelle (Mario) Cudal and Marie (Artemio) Cudal, both of the Philippines; brothers, Nicolas, Esteban and Dominador Cudal, all of the Philippines; sister, Clara Arimas of California; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Keith Thurston Tatsuo Shimomura, 73

Keith Thurston Tatsuo Shimomura, 73, of Pukalani passed away on Sept. 27, 2016 in Kahului, under the care of Islands Hospice and his loving family. He was born on June 7, 1943 in Lahaina.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at Norman’s Mortuary; eulogy at 7:20 p.m. and service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Shimomura; sons, William (Connie) Laborte, Clarence “Halona” (Karen) Laborte and Windley (Wendy) Laborte; daughter, Rose (David) Rabanal; brothers, Stanley (Mary) Shimomura, Ralph “Mako” (Aileen) Shimomura, Melvin (Jeanne) Shimomura, Dennis Shimomura, Ernest (Stacey) Shimomura and Corwin (Elsie) Shimomura; sisters, Carolyn (Raymond) Kidani and Diane (Glenn) Erickson; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
