Help clear the shelter at Maui Humane Society from July 29 to Aug. 2

Maui Humane Society is holding a Clear the Shelter Adoption Event from July 29 to Aug. 2.
PUUNENE – Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, Maui Humane Society will be undergoing a much-needed renovation this month to the existing dog kennels at the shelter.
Renovations will include new kennel fencing, including modern gates, and repainted interiors.
Construction will begin Aug. 3 and is scheduled to be completed Aug. 22. During this time, the shelter will be open for business, but all of the dog kennels must be empty in order to complete the renovation.
In order to prepare the kennels for construction, Maui Humane Society will be holding a Clear the Shelter Adoption Event from July 29 to Aug. 2, every day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thanks to a grant from the Petco Foundation, adoption fees for ALL shelter animals will be waived during this five-day event. All adoptable animals have received a full medical screening, including spay/neuter services and age-appropriate vaccinations, and have been microchipped.
Each adopter will receive an adoption starter kit that includes a bag of food (cats/dogs), a free health visit for their animal from a participating local veterinary clinic and more.
Maui Humane Society is also putting out a “Foster SOS” for loving families to provide temporary foster homes for dogs from Aug. 3-22.
If you can open up your heart and your home to a homeless dog that needs a temporary place to stay, call the shelter at (808) 877-3680 to find out how to become a foster parent. All supplies will be provided, including food. It’s fun and easy and will provide a great service to the community.
Maui Humane Society is located at 1350 Mehameha Loop in Puunene along Mokulele Highway. MHS is conveniently located between Kahului and Kihei/Wailea.
