Josef Losberg, 79

Josef Losberg of Lahaina passed away peacefully on July 4, 2016 surrounded by loving friends and family.

He was born in West Germany on March 30, 1937 and came to Lahaina in 1963 to work as a pastry chef at the Sheraton Maui. In 1964, he married Patricia (Pat) at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina.

In 1973, Josef and Pat established and opened Mind’s Eye Interiors.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; his two poodles, Emma and Sophie; and many dear friends.

In his last days, he was cared for by Hospice Maui and All Care Hawaii in Lahaina. In lieu of flowers, please send monetary donations in honor of Josef to either organization.

Private services were held.

Tomiko Amine, 96

Tomiko Amine, 96, of Lahaina passed away on June 6, 2016. She was born on Oct. 9, 1919 in Maui.

She is predeceased by her parents, Shimakichi Aotaki and Sekino Date; her loving husband, Tetsuji Amine; and her two sons, Richard Amine and Wayne Amine.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Alvin) Kuramoto; daughter-in-law, Ruth Amine; sister, Vivien Suzawa; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
